Proper website buttons improve conversions
Who doesn't love website buttons?
...so lame Mike.
For business owners, website buttons are kind of a big deal. Customers click buttons and that leads to deals, to actions.
Even marketers tried to get fancy with you and came up with another name, a call-to-actions or even cooler, a CTA.
Oh my buttons….
But Buttons be your MONEY MAKERS.
Buttons for website conversions
A button should be as simple as what it’s meant to be. A straightforward way to take action on a website.
- Straightforward words on buttons prevent confusion
- Make buttons look like buttons to prevent confusion
More button clicks mean results
The more people click on your website buttons, the more people browsing your site will convert to clients.
BUT we can be stubborn sometimes and mess up buttons.
Sometimes we try to get fancy with our website buttons and use short phrases that sound epic or extraordinary.
I mean, we just want to be different, right?
Let's take a look at an example of text that is commonly used on newsletter buttons.
- Join my newsletter: very clear into the point
- Let’s conquer together: Not sure, what does this button mean?
You might think that Join my newsletter is boring, but without question, it states exactly what the button is meant to do…
For someone to subscribe to your newsletter.
No thinking means speed, therefore, conversion optimization.
I’ve tried using fancier words in conversations to sound smarter. I’m tried using more creative words on websites to sound cooler, more unique.
But normally it ends up with me sounding silly. Or with websites, a lower-performing conversion.
